Salina Central’s Parker Kavanagh  – “Visit Salina Winning Edge” Player of the Month – Presented by Visit Salina

In preparation for the upcoming season, Salina Central quarterback Parker Kavanagh has worked to improve his game and watch an endless amount of film on himself to see where he can improve to help his team win. “I played on a 7-on-7 team this spring and went to a bunch of camps this summer. I made sure to work on the fundamentals to be even more consistent for next year, and I spent a lot of time watching Hudl to learn from what I did both good and bad from last year,” said Kavanagh. “Playing with this group of teammates is more than this quarterback could ask for.

“I wouldn’t trade my teammates for anyone. They are fun to be around but are hard-working and serious when it comes to football. Even with a down season last year they always had a good attitude and have had a great off-season,” said Kavanagh. “We are looking to have a big turnaround from last year and have a great season. We’ve had a great off-season and are expecting our hard work to pay off this fall.”

There are a couple of games Kavanagh has circled on his calendar. “As of right now we are just focused on our first game which is Campus. Being in the division we are betting there will be a lot of big and important games for us. Also living in Salina, the Mayor’s Cup is always a huge game for us,” said Kavanagh. “The community and the school give a ton of support towards our athletic programs, and we have great coaching staffs and teachers who give us the opportunities we need to be the best we can be on the field and in the classroom.”
