Q&A With Hutchinson’s Blake Yoder – Athlete Spotlight – Presented By Holly’s Pet Shoppe

Hutchinson Central athlete Blake Yoder spoke with VYPE is a recent interview.

VYPE: What are your personal goals for the year?

My personal goals for this year is to lead my team to an above .500 record and to make a run in the playoffs.

VYPE: What is the most fun you have had in the last year?

The most fun I’ve had in the last year was getting second at state in cross country this year.

VYPE: Who is your favorite teacher from any grade, and why?

My favorite teacher is my science teacher from 7th-11th grade Mr. Walter even though he always beats me in our school’s fantasy football league.

VYPE: What is your favorite athletic memory?

My favorite athletic memory is making it to state in XC as a team my freshman year.

VYPE: What teammate has left the biggest impression on you and why?

The teammate that has left the biggest impression on me is Collin Oswalt because of his constant positive attitude and always encouraging me to not just be a better athlete but a better leader.

VYPE: What is your favorite part of being on this team?

My favorite part about being on this team is that the group of guys we have get along well not just on the court but off the court as well.

VYPE: You can pick any place for a summer vacation. Where do you go, and who do you take with you?

If I could pick any place to go on a summer vacation I would go to the beaches in Hawaii and I would take my family with me.

VYPE: If we gave you $500 and you had to spend it in the next 24 hours, what would you spend it on?

If I had 24 hours to spend $500 I would buy a pair of military black Jordan 4’s.

VYPE: Do you participate in any community service projects?

One community service project that I participate in is my church’s vacation bible school during the summer.
