Minneapolis’ Gage Carlson – American Family Insurance Athlete Spotlight

Wrestling at 106-pounds, Gage Carlson is working hard to represent the Minneapolis wrestling team as a sophomore. His work in the wrestling room is paying off this season. Carlson is one of the guys to watch this season despite being an underclassman. Being a part of the team and contributing to the overall success of the program is important to Carlson. Keeping up his academics is equally as important.

“I love that there is plenty of time to work on homework or projects throughout the day. I also like that you know pretty much everyone at Minneapolis HS. I also get to see my teammates in class. This gives us the opportunity to talk about sports or other things. My teammates are nice people and most of the time, know when to have fun and when to get serious,” said Carlson.

Uncertain about his future after high school, Carlson said one person who will help him with that decision is his father.

“My dad has been a very big influence on me throughout my life. He has always pushed me to do my best even when it is very hard to,” said Carlson.
