Little River’s Braden Young – Athlete Spotlight Presented by Kansas Turnpike Authority

Little River’s Braden Young had an exceptional junior season with six picks and was named a first team all-state athlete. Young is looking forward to showing what he and his team can accomplish this season.

“I feel great and loose,” Young said. “People always say the pressure is on us from the last few seasons, but when we are out on the field and at practice we don’t feel it affects us.”

Young has been putting in time on and off the field, working towards bettering his skill.

“I’ve been working with the team and working on my quickness,” Young said. “I have a field in my hometown that I like getting some work in on. Getting some quicker hips and mobility will help me fly to the ball.”

While winning is on everyone’s mind, Young also hopes to have a memorable season with his teammates.

“I want to have a fun and successful season,” Young said. “Beat as many teams as we can.”

Young is also very involved at Little River. Besides football, Young plays baseball and is the student council president.

While undecided where, Young does hope to continue his academic career after high school.

“I want to go into business or safety management,” Young said. “College is undecided. I want to have a good family to teach my little ones to play baseball.”
