Hesston’s Elise Kaiser – Senior Spotlight Presented by Visit Salina

Senior Elise Kaiser started participating in track at the young age of five. Over the years she has added to the number of events she competes in competitively.

“My main race was the 400m dash, although I also ran the 800m dash, 200m dash, 100m hurdles, high jumped for a few years, and I was apart of the 4x100m and 4x400m relays,” said Kaiser.

With so many memories on the track it’s tough for Kaiser to pick one that stands out, but becoming a champion certainly left an impression.

“Last year on the third day of the 2019 state track meet, I became a state champion in the 3A 4x400m relay with my teammates and we broke our school record,” said Kaiser.

Kaiser has big plans for her future, which includes college.

“I am attending Newman University this fall to continue my education and basketball career. I am majoring in biology with a concentration in pre-med,” said Kaiser. “I want to encourage every athlete and student to enjoy every moment in high school and to never take a game or practice for granted, because you never really know when your last race will be.”
