Tennis State Recap Presented By Garden City Community College

Class 4A 

Singles 

Buhler’s Davian Spies finished third after defeating teammate Amos Harder 6-4, 6-1. 

McPherson’s Ethan Elder finished 10th after losing to Daniel Sullivan from Bishop Miege.  

McPherson’s Bryson Archer finished 11th after defeating Independence’s Owen Clapp 9-1. 

Doubles 

McPherson’s Alex Berger-Kayden McVicker placed fourth after losing to 

Winfield’s Jackson Davis-Adam Everett 6-4, 6-3. 

Buhler’s Brock Hilger-Von Woleslagel finished seventh, defeating Augusta’s Logan Pfiefer-Logan Ruddle 9-3. 

Team standings 

Buhler finished third with 32 points. This was Buhler’s third time finishing third in three of the last four seasons. 

“We knew that Independence would be tough to beat,” coach Matt Babcock said. “I think we felt we were a Top 3 team and would have a good chance to bring home some hardware if we played well.”

McPherson finished fourth with 20 points.
