It’s no surprise that the Southeast of Saline Trojans have put in work during the offseason. But there has been a renewed focus after watching their undefeated season end against the Kingman Eagles, which finished second. Seniors like Nathan Weller know that their clocks are almost up and have been locked in all offseason to make it great.
“Our team workouts have been going good,” Weller said. “We have had a lot of guys make big jumps from the beginning to the end.”
In Week 6 Weller tore his ACL, took a couple of games off, and then played in the playoffs. After the season ended, he immediately had surgery. With everyone on the team focused on getting stronger and improving, Weller’s offseason was all about building up all the strength in his leg on top of gaining some more overall strength.
“To get myself prepared for this upcoming season, I have been attending physical therapy once a week and trying to just regain that strength back in my leg,” Weller said.
Coming off of a year where he only gave up four sacks and was a second-team All-League player, Weller and the rest of the Trojans have plans to keep on building.
“Our team’s goal is to go 1-0 every week and just keep getting better and better day in and day out,” he said.
