Seth Flores is a senior at Salina South who plays center attacking mid and outside wing for the Cougars. Flores has played soccer since he was four years old.
“I play soccer because I enjoy the game,” Flores said. “I have felt the same about soccer ever since I was little, and my passion for the game has never changed.”
With his high school career coming to an end, the senior desperately wants to finish off the right way.
“My goals for the team this season is to win regionals and to go to state,” Flores said. “This is the best our program has looked in a while and I’m excited. My personal goals for this season is to have at least 18-20 goals and to get first team all-state.”
Flores knows that he has to be the one to lead by example as well as lead with his voice.
“In order to achieve our team goals, I need to be a leader and have to get the boys focused before every game so we are ready to play our best,” Flores said. “I need to stay focused and keep my body right. I also need to watch film and see what I need to correct from game to game.”
The senior’s mentality has been a staple in his development throughout his career and his mentality continues to get even better.
“My mentality while playing is to win. I am always thinking about how to get in behind defenders and how I can open up to create space for not only myself but for my teammates, too,” Flores said.
