For the 2023-2024 season Salina South’s Quevon Purucker wants to find the balance between being the lead man for the Cougars, while also making it a point to get others involved.
That was his primary focus for Purucker in the offseason.
“I am wanting to improve on getting my teammates more involved and still being able to get mine,” Purucker said. “During the off-season I would make plays by getting the ball to move around and then working off of the spacing.”
Last season was a rough one for Salina South, so Purucker is solely focused on enjoying every minute of his senior season.
“I am excited to play in front of a student section and just to be able to enjoy my senior season with my team,” Purucker said. “I am ready to just hoop and have fun.”
Throughout the spring and summer, Purucker’s life was essentially basketball.
“I have been playing AAU with SSA Elite and that is a New Balance Circuit team,” Purucker said. “I also have been in the gym for at least 15 to 20 hours a week.”
Purucker wants to see his numbers improve and he believes that if they do, then so too will Salina South’s record.
“My goals are to average more in every category and then as a team is to go positive on the season record-wise,” Purucker said.
