Moundridge’s Joaquin Huff – Athlete Spotlight Presented By WSU Tech

By Blake Chadwick

The goal this season for Moundridge senior running back/linebacker Joaquin Huff is to continue the Wildcats’ winning ways. Coming off of a 6-3 year, Moundridge got a taste of winning again, and players like Huff are salivating at the chance to win even more. Huff plays both sides of the ball at a fast and physical pace that helps set the tone for every single play. In 2022, he had 364 rushing yards and 10 touchdowns on 56 carries. Defensively, he contributed 59 total tackles and six tackles for loss. The offseason work sparked some early hope for the Wildcats.

“Workouts are amazing,” Huff said. “Everyone is getting to know each other and getting a feel for what it’s like to be on a team. Everyone puts in the work to get better every day.”

With his effort on the field getting all the attention, Huff has looked inside himself to become a leader and get some more offseason progress.

“I’ve been trying to mostly improve my communication skills as a leader of the team and as a senior,” Huff said.

With no intention to play college football as of now, Huff feels his career slowly dwindling down and knows that he has to pull out all the stops to make that time go as slowly as possible.
