Logan Renken, Little River HS – Prep Performance Of The Month Presented By Hog Wild

By Matt Browning

Logan Renken of Little River was an honorable mention all-league selection last season and he has picked up right where he left off for the Redskins.

Renken has established himself as one of the top shortstops in Class 2-1A not only at the plate but in the field, as well.

“I believe my game at shortstop has come the farthest from last season,” Renken said. “This summer I was working with some really good coaches on the little things that go into being a good middle infielder. Gaining arm strength this past winter was a big vocal point and it has paid off making plays I wouldn’t have been able to do freshman year.”

Little River lost in the finals in 2022 and Renken thinks his team his focused on finishing the deal this time.

“We started out on a really solid start handling ranked teams, Sedgwick and Marion in week one and two,” Renken said. “We have gotten into a rotation of pitching and our at-bats have come a long way from week one. I am really excited to see how we come together going into our regional and hopefully the state tournament, as we look to finish some business we left in Great Bend last year losing in the finals.”

Renken said his best performance this year came against Inman.

“My best performance this season at the plate come against Inman in week four, where I went seven-for-seven in the doubleheader with three doubles, three singles, and a homerun,” Renken said.
