Hutchinson had a season for the books last year, only losing three games. A big time player on that 2022 team was Daylee Vansyckle.
Hoping for another winning season, Vansyckle has been conditioning all offseason preparing for the year that is fastly approaching.
“The way I have been training in the off season is going to a couple camps, like the Kansas University camp and also just trying to gain weight and get as big as possible,” Vansyckle said.
With all the offseason work and training, Vansyckle is looking forward to putting the team’s skills to work on the field.
“One thing I’m most excited for is just having one more season to play with all my teammates and having a really good chance at the state championship,” Vansyckle said.
The first team all-league and all-state offensive lineman is planning to continue on with his progress throughout the season, but has worked to improve his goals over the summer.
“One area I am wanting to improve is my strength because as a lineman the stronger you are the better you are,” Vansyckle said. “The goal I have for me personally is to not let up any sacks. I didn’t let up last year so I have to do it again.”
Vansyckle hopes to continue playing the game he loves in college, all while furthering his education.
“My future plan is to play football in college to whatever is the right fit for me and get a degree in aviation,” Vansyckle said.
