Hesston’s Kori Kramer – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Bluestem Pace

By Matt Browning

Karsyn White of Wellington was chosen as the SCCDAT Athlete of the Month for September. White plays volleyball and basketball for the Crusaders.

“Being a part of SCCDAT was appealing to me because I had seen how it benefited students before me and I knew I wanted to be a part of something like that,” White said. “There are a lot of benefits to being in SCCDAT. My favorite one is watching how what we do in our organization impacts other people. We are always having people ask us what it is. We do a lot of different things throughout the school year.”

The process for getting into SCCDAT was easy and seamless for White and others at Wellington.

“This will be my second year in SCCDAT and I am a junior at WHS,” White said. “One day someone told me I should email Kiersten Thuerer about what I need to do to be a part of this group, and she sent me an application and a few weeks later I was in.”

Now that White is in SCCDAT, she cannot wait to see what the future holds for her and the group.

“If someone was looking to join SCCDAT, I would explain to them everything we do and highly encourage them to fill out an application and join,” White said. “This is a great organization to be a part of and I cannot wait for the next two years with them.”
