Garden Plain’s Seth Dugan – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Advanced Physical Therapy

By Hayden Swope

Seth Dugan, a junior at Garden Plain, was a second team all-league running back last season for the Owls. Dugan and the team spent the offseason advancing their abilities on offense and defense in preparation for the year.

“During the summer I have attended summer weights in the morning and during the week the team also went to a couple of camps, one of them including us going to Friends University which was a great experience for our program and it helped us make a huge jump,” Dugan said.

Hoping to improve and progress his strengths on the offensive side of the ball, Dugan worked with coaches and teammates to push his drive on the field.

“This year I am wanting to improve on my physicality,” Dugan said. “Most of my mornings throughout the summer were spent in the weight room and our coaches’ workouts prepare us to be physical on the football field.”

Dugan’s goals and aspirations for himself and the team are high, as he hopes to cross them all off of the list.

“As a team we want to be the most physically tough team that nobody wants to play,” Dugan said. “I see us finishing with a winning record and going deep into the playoffs. Individually I want to make first team at all my positions and be the most dangerous guy on the field.”

With the first game of the season quickly approaching, Dugan is excited to see all of the team’s hard work come together.

“I am most excited to see how much our offense has improved after running it for the first time last year,” Dugan said. “I can already see all the little improvements we have made in our offense that is going to make us a very dangerous team.”
