Beloit’s Tyler Odle – Coach of the Month Presented By Salina Regional Orthopedic Clinic

By Matt Browning

Tyler Odle has invested so much of his time into softball at Beloit and not just at the high school. Odle and his wife started the Beloit Blaze fast pitch program, where Odle was the head coach.

This pipeline is just one of the reasons why the Trojans are one of the top teams in Class 3A this season. Odle also focuses on the simple things of sport, not just softball.

“My philosophy has always been to compete with class and good fundamentals,” Odle said. “Sure we have breakdowns where we do something that isn’t classy but we always reset and focus on letting our play and attitudes show who we really are in success and failure.”

Beloit has been supportive of the softball program and Odle understands how important that is to sustain long-term success.

“I love how many people in the community support and follow women’s sports in Beloit,” Odle said. “People are always asking how things are going and regularly show their pride in our young ladies.”

While Odle has enjoyed his five years as the Trojans’ head coach, this season means just a little bit more.

“This year is very special to me for a couple of reasons,” Odle said. “This is my youngest daughter’s senior year and I have been fortunate to be able to coach both of my daughters in softball for many years. Chloe has been a special part of our program because she works so hard in and out of season which elevates all of us.”
