Beloit’s Bryce Beisner – Athlete Spotlight Presented By Visit Salina

By Hayden Swope

Beloit’s Bryce Beisner was a first team all-league all-state honorable mention athlete last season. Beisner is eager for the upcoming season as the Trojans return most of its starting lineup.

“My main goal this year is for us to get to Hutchinson,” Beisner said. “We are bringing almost everyone from last year’s team back and getting to state is definitely the biggest goal for us.”

The offseason was a lot of basketball for Beisner, which prepared him for the busy winter season quickly approaching.

“I played a lot of games over the summer with my AAU team, SSA Hoops, and also in our summer league with our school team,” Beisner said. “I have mainly been focusing on expanding my outside shooting as well as my ball handling.”

Beisner looks forward to his favorite tournament with his teammates every year, and it’s become one of his favorite memories as a Trojan.

“My favorite memories from basketball come from the Orange and Black Classic mid-season tournament in Colby,” Beisner said. “It is always a fun tournament to be in with all of the good competition there. It is also a great team bonding experience for us right before the last part of the season.”

With two different paths calling his name, Beisner is deciding on whether to continue on his athletic journey after high school.

“Right now I have a couple of paths I’m looking at,” Beisner said. “One is going to play basketball, then follow that by attending the University of Kansas School of Pharmacy. I have also been looking into continuing my career as a volleyball manager at the University of Kansas.”
