Salina South’s Giselle Nash – Image Maker of the Month Presented by Salina Ortho MRI and Physical Therapy

When soccer Coach Trey Crow says he has a player who is the “spark plug” and the “person who makes the offense go,” you learn more about this player. Coach Crow was talking about junior Giselle Nash. Nash was first team All-League and Honorable Mention All-State as a forward last season. Nash started playing soccer in elementary school.

“I started playing soccer when I was in fifth grade for the Salina Soccer Club Wolf Pack team. I am mainly a forward now, but I also play a little midfield,” said Nash.

Being part of the South family is special to Nash. She loves her teammates and the time they get to spend together.

“What I love about my team is that we have a bond and connection where we are friends on and off the field. It’s so rare to have both, which I’m grateful for,” said Nash. “What makes being a student-athlete for South so special is that I have grown up with a lot of my high school teammates and I also get to enjoy this sport with my younger sisters.”

This year Nash is also playing basketball and is part of the Black Leadership group at school.

Nash said the biggest influence in her life is her dad and she is looking forward to graduating and going to college.

“My plans after I graduate are to go to medical school and I hope to play soccer for a college team,” said Nash.

In her free time Nash said she enjoys watching Netflix, listening to music, and hanging with friends and family.
