Tucker Smith of Minneapolis was chosen as the American Family Insurance Athlete of the Month. With the long season ahead, Smith is ready to enjoy his senior year no matter the challenges thrown at the team.
“I’m feeling excited but I know that we will have many challenges,” Smith said. “It will be fun, that’s for sure.”
During the offseason, Smith has spent as much time as possible putting in work for the upcoming season.
“Between working the two jobs I’ve had, I’ve been lifting hard when I can as well as the little camps our team had,” Smith said. “I even went and played some ball with my brother.”
With only one more year left to play high school football, Smith wants to make sure he leaves his mark not only on himself, but on the team as well, and help lead them far into the playoffs.
“My goals this next year is to truly step up as a leader and lead this team to some wins,” Smith said. “I’d like to see us make it to the playoffs.”
Smith not only has high hopes for the season, but for his future after high school too.
“I plan on going to Kansas State Salina to go into tech repair and later into business,” Smith said. “I plan on opening my own tech repair shop.”
