Brayson Young has heard he’s too small his entire football career. That has fueled Young to become one of the toughest players on the field. Young is now an offensive and defensive lineman for Lincoln High School and the 5-foot-8, 130-pounder admits his favorite position is nose guard.

“I play offensive and defensive line, but my main positions are nose guard and left guard. Although my favorite position is nose guard,” said Young. “Over the past three years I feel like our team has really grown into a brotherhood and I really think that showed last year when we made it to the playoffs.”

Young has battled through several injuries including a dislocated knee while wrestling. Regardless, he pushes through the pain to be there for his teammates.

Young also enjoys hunting waterfowl. Duck hunting has become his favorite activities. “I hunt with three of my teammates, Joel, Brady and Logan,” said Young. “My favorite spot would be a pasture with two ponds right by each other just because it was one of the first ponds we ever hunted, and we never walk out empty handed. I remember going hunting with my dad as a kid and that was the start for my love of the outdoors. At the end of the day the land and the water we have is all we have, its crucial we take care of our land and our waterways so the future generations can create their own memories hunting. You don’t need a bunch of fancy gear. Duck hunting is a great way to learn how to communicate and bond with people when you and that group get that first duck, it’s an amazing feeling and a memory you’ll never forget.”
