Cody, a junior at McPherson, got his season off to a promising start on Sept. 5 at the Great Bend Invitational, located at Lake Barton. Cody set a 4,000-meter personal record in a time of 14 minutes, 54.9 seconds, finishing in 16th. The year before, Cody won the McPherson Invitational and set a 5,000-meter PR at the AVCTL Division 3 meet with a time of 18:55.8.
